This kit is designed to strengthen your stock upper shock studs. By adding on outside support, the shock stud and frame no longer carry the brunt of the load the shock produces. By enclosing the stud, the shock can no longer flex your frame. This eliminates stress fractures or even studs pulling out of your frame rails.
